Destination Wedding in Punta Cana: The Energetic LGBTQ+ Celebration of Gabi and Giu

An Intimate and Heartfelt Destination LGBTQ Wedding in Punta Cana

A Perfect Morning at Finest Punta Cana

Gabi and Giu’s wedding day started with the kind of weather every couple hopes for in Punta Cana. Clear skies, warm sunlight, and that soft Caribbean breeze that tells you the day is going to be unforgettable. Finest Punta Cana set the perfect scene for a celebration filled with color, emotion, and loved ones who traveled from more than forty countries to be part of their day.

As a photographer who loves working with LGBTQ couples, there is something incredibly special about documenting weddings where traditions are reimagined with freedom and intention. From the very beginning, Gabi and Giu made every choice based on what felt true to them.

Two Rooms, Two Energies, One Love Story

Weddings can sometimes feel challenging for LGBTQ couples because of traditional expectations or gendered norms. But what I loved about Gabi and Giu is how naturally they made every decision reflect their personalities instead of any external rules.

They chose to get ready in separate rooms, not because they had to, but because it allowed them to enjoy intimate and calm moments with their closest friends and family.

Both rooms had their own vibe. Soft laughs, a little nervous excitement, personal details that told their story, and that beautiful atmosphere that happens when love is about to take center stage. The getting ready wasn’t rushed or staged. It was authentic, emotional, and full of small moments that are often the most meaningful.

The Ceremony: Tradition, Emotion, and a Moment of Remembrance

For their ceremony, Gabi and Giu decided to honor a classic tradition and walk in with their parents. It was a beautiful and powerful gesture, grounding their love in their personal histories.

The ceremony felt intimate and deeply emotional. Guests who had traveled from around the world held space for them with sincerity and affection. One of the most touching parts was when the brides took a moment to remember the loved ones who were no longer physically present. It was quiet, heartfelt, and profoundly meaningful.

With a bright blue sky above them and the colors of Punta Cana’s coast surrounding the ceremony, every moment felt alive. Their vows were full of promises that reflected the balance, respect, and joy in their relationship. You could sense the honesty in every word.

Beach Portraits Filled With Movement and Emotion

Right after the ceremony, we slipped away for a few minutes to the beach at Finest Punta Cana, which I absolutely love, because the beach of Uvero Alto is way less crowded. The goal wasn’t to pose. It was to feel.

We worked with the wind, the light, the water, and their natural energy. They walked, laughed, held each other, and moved freely. I followed their rhythm and let the moments unfold. These portraits ended up being some of my favorites because they show who they truly are together.

The Reception: Colombia + Brazil + Caribbean Vibes

This is where everything exploded into pure joy.

With Gabi being from Colombia and Giu from Brazil, the reception had to blend their cultures in the most effortless way. They chose a Brazilian-style dinner, an open and vibrant banquet that immediately set the tone for a night of celebration.

Caribbean and tropical music filled the air. Within seconds, everyone was dancing. Friends, family, and guests from over forty countries created an atmosphere that felt electric.
There were hugs, loud laughter, dancing circles, and moments of pure connection. I loved capturing these interactions because they reflected how loved Gabi and Giu truly are.

The Sparkler Send Off: A Bright, Magical Goodbye

To end the night, Gabi and Giu chose a sparkler send off.
The warm light, the ocean in the background, and their guests forming a glowing tunnel made this moment feel cinematic.

They walked hand in hand, smiling, soaking in the last moments of their celebration.
It was simple, emotional, and easily one of my favorite parts of the entire day.

If you’re dreaming of an LGBTQ destination wedding in Punta Cana or anywhere in the Dominican Republic, I want you to know that you’ll always have a safe, welcoming, and affirming space here.

My goal is simple: to help you feel yourself fully. No roles forced on you, no expectations that don’t align with who you are, just an environment where you can be present, relaxed, and connected.
When couples feel free, the images naturally reflect their real energy, their dynamic, and their love.

If you’re exploring photographers or just want to talk through your ideas, I’d love to hear your story and see how I can support your day.
