Kilts and Palm Trees: A Chez Bisutti Emotional Destination Wedding Destination in Punta Cana
Dominican & Scottish heritage for an unforgettable destination wedding in Chez Bisutti Punta Cana.
Some weddings feel like a warm hug between two entirely different worlds, and Noelia and Jonty’s day was exactly that. Traveling from their home in Amsterdam to the Caribbean, they celebrated their love on a day where the weather was simply perfect. As a Punta Cana and Dominican Republic wedding photographer, I've seen countless beautiful backdrops, but the way the vibrant green of the palm trees at Chez Bisutti contrasted with the endless blue of the sky and the sea had a unique kind of magic.
Noelia, with her vibrant Dominican roots, and Jonty, bringing his proud Scottish heritage, created a bilingual, cross-cultural experience that felt entirely authentic, free, and deeply human.

The Ceremony: A Beautiful Fusion by the Sea
The sound of the wind, the rustling palms, and the waves crashing on the turquoise beach served as the ultimate natural soundtrack. As guests took their seats, the excitement was palpable.
Noelia’s entrance, walking arm-in-arm with her parents, was one of those moments that gives you goosebumps. Standing at the altar in his kilt, Jonty couldn’t hold back a beautiful, completely genuine reaction the second he saw his future wife. The moment Noelia’s mother handed her daughter over was pure emotion.
Their vows weren't just standard promises; they were a real love poem, looking back at how a simple match on Hinge (while Noelia was recovering from a knee surgery) led them to this very altar. Their exit as husband and wife was an explosion of pure joy, walking hand-in-hand through a shower of flower petals from their loved ones.
Sunset Portrait Session: Emotions Over Posing
While the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, savoring snacks and watching a breathtaking sunset over the ocean horizon, we sneaked away for a quick portrait session among the majestic palm trees. Even though they told me they had never taken professional photos together before, their connection made everything effortless. My approach is always emotions over posing, so I just let them be. We captured incredibly spontaneous, candid moments bathed in the warm, golden light of the Caribbean sunset. They were simply present, connected, and soaking in their first moments alone as a married couple.
Reception & Special Moments: Energy, Tears, and a Custom Quiz
When night fell, the real Dominican-Scottish party came alive. Noelia and Jonty made their grand entrance into the reception, and the crowd went absolutely wild, welcoming them with an unmatched, vibrant energy. The evening was filled with happy tears and loud laughs thanks to the heartfelt speeches from family and friends, celebrating the merging of these two distinct families.
True to their fun-loving nature, the couple planned an incredibly creative surprise: guests had to scan a QR code at their tables to play a trivia quiz about the couple's love story. Questions ranged from their first date in London to fun facts about their dog, Luna. With prizes for the winners, the room's energy skyrocketed. From there, the perfect mix of Latin music and Jonty's favorite beats kept the dance floor packed and highly energetic all night long.
